About

In the heart of the Los Santos region, exceptional climatic and agricultural conditions converge to create the perfect environment for these coffee plantations. These plantations are meticulously cultivated to produce coffee that is both unique and exquisite.

The coffee plant itself is a marvel of nature. It takes about two years to yield its first harvest, but it isn’t until four years later that it reaches full productive stability. During the flowering season, The plantations are adorned in white blossoms and filled with an irresistible aroma. When harvest season arrives, the valleys and mountains are beautified by the vibrant red and yellow hues of the coffee cherries.

The unwavering commitment to excellence is evident in every step of our process, from harvesting the cherries to serving the coffee in the cup. Rigorous quality control measures ensure that each bean retains the unique characteristics that make Tarrazú coffee so special.

This coffee is more than just a beverage; it is a symbol of passion and pride. They deeply value the hard work of our small producers, who receive fair and equitable treatment, enabling them to support their families. When the trade winds blow through the Los Santos region from October to March, the coffee harvest intensifies, marking one of the most beautiful and exciting times of the year for this community.

Coffee harvesting is intrinsic to the history and identity of the region, representing cherished moments and memories shared among families and communities. Currently, nearly 15,000 immigrants from Nicaragua and Panama join our communities to participate in the coffee harvest. At CoopeTarrazú,  the efforts of the harvesters are guaranteed with fair and equal payment for each box of coffee collected.

The remuneration standards are regulated by the Ministry of Labor and the Costa Rican Coffee Institute (ICAFE), ensuring decent working conditions for all our workers. This commitment to fair treatment and high standards not only supports the workers but also upholds the quality and integrity of our coffee.
