EcoVadis operates as a sustainability assessment agency with a distinct focus on evaluating corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental sustainability efforts. Using a comprehensive rating framework, EcoVadis assesses companies across various aspects of sustainability, including labour practices, human rights, environmental stewardship, ethical business conduct, and sustainable procurement. This evaluation system not only serves as a valuable tool for companies to gauge their sustainability performance but also allows customers and stakeholders to evaluate the sustainability credentials of their suppliers.
To facilitate this process, EcoVadis offers a suite of web-based collaboration tools, meticulously tailored to meet business needs. To ensure a comprehensive evaluation of a company's true impacts, the assessment framework is tailored to accommodate the unique attributes of each enterprise, considering factors such as industry, scale, and operational locations. While this customization is crucial, EcoVadis also identifies a set of 21 sustainability criteria aligned with international Sustainable Development standards. From this set of criteria, EcoVadis selectively applies those most relevant to the specific circumstances of the company in question.
